Report – 2019
Armenian and Azeri minorities populate the eastern borders of Georgia. Mostly refugees from conflicts in their respective countries, these populations have sometimes been present for several generations, without being represented by the Georgian democratic institutions.
Today, the High Commission on National Minorities (office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, United Nations) is setting up a program in favor of the political inclusion of these minorities in their host country. A salutary program in a historically very unstable region…
10 days of shooting across Georgia were necessary for the production of this report. The B8 team accompanied the local HCNM office and its interpreters along the Armenian, Chechen and Azeri borders to conduct the required interviews and illustrations.
The report and its short version were translated into 8 languages before being promoted on social networks in the region.
